On the whole, Barbour International clothing and jackets are cut to a fashion fit, meaning they are a tailored, slim cut that follow the contours of the body. Wearers of Barbour International often choose to wear a larger size than their regular clothing in order to accommodate this slim fit.

Slim
The slim fit is a streamlined fit designed to flatter and follow the body's contours. Slim fit garments are designed to fit close to the body with few or no layers worn beneath. Slim fit is generally the slimmest of the various fits, and as it is figure hugging is better suited to slim body types.

Tailored
The tailored fit is more generous than the slim fits, although it is still designed to give a more figure hugging silhouette than the relaxed or regular fits.

Regular
The regular is also described as the comfort fit. It is not as close fitting as the slim fit as it has enough room for more freedom of movement and for additional layers to be worn beneath where appropriate.

Relaxed
The relaxed fit is a more generous fit than the tailored and regular fits. It is a generous fit designed to enable additional layers to be worn beneath whilst preserving freedom of movement. It is suited to a range of body types, particularly those with a larger build.
